Do you have a crafty kiddo?

Perfect. We truly adore kids around here and it's our mission to give kids space to be themselves, get their hands dirty, and have some fun.

It's our 10th summer season here at C&a and we can't wait to spend another summer of creative play with your kiddos!

Makers will explore a variety of building techniques to design and create the most awesome playthings. We will use tools, wood, and wheels to create rolling toys, stitch together dolls and stuffed animals, we’ll even use recycled materials to invent games and activities that will keep your child engaged long after camp is over. On the last day of camp, we will collaborate to create a child-run pop-up market for those who would like to sell their creations. Kids will learn about design, craftsmanship, safety, business, marketing, and more, all while having a blast.

Love animals and insects? We do, too! While we can’t turn the school into a farm, we can get crafty with an animal twist. In this camp, we’ll explore all things animal-related. We’ll spend each day exploring a different type of animal and creative craft. Think wooden bug catchers with polymer clay bug buddies, DIY bird wings, beaks and masks, and papier-mache mammals, and under-the-sea stuffies.

In this week-long camp, makers will use cardboard, wood scraps, and up-cycled materials to create all sorts of carnival-inspired crafts. Projects include cardboard mini-games (Plinko, skeeball, pinball, etc), a mini-carnival swing ride or Ferris wheel, and moving character puppets like a trapeze artist or a strong man. We’ll end the week by creating a collaborative carnival with DIY games and prizes. Makers will flex their creative muscles while learning all about engineering, simple machines, design, and collaboration. This is creative STEAM at its best.

We really do love the quiet, slow pace of fiber arts. In what has become an annual shop tradition, the week of July 4th, we open the shop for all things fibers. Makers will be able to choose their own adventure depending on what projects and materials spark their interest. They will have access to a wide variety of fibers activities. In an open workshop model, we will explore techniques including weaving, making rag dolls, needle felting, embroidery, hand sewing, and macrame.

Let's go on an epic craft journey together! We'll explore all the creative gold that is the fairy tale world of knights, castles, fairies, dragons, and gnomes. We'll create knight costumes, swords and shields, miniature castles, gnome homes, and imagined creatures great and small. Think dragons, fairies, and storytelling galore. We'll use this theme to explore our imaginations and use all sorts of materials, tools, and techniques including woodcraft, fibers, polymer clay, and natural materials like stones and moss.
